Re: Sharing Production with other Planets

Which, of course, is possible because in MoO2 you can (unrealistically) just switch your pops between science, industry and production and would immediately see results. In a more realistic scenario the pop points would take a few turns (after their assignment) before they would become productive (w...

Re: Sharing Production with other Planets

Purely theoretically Streams of population (if population is de facto specialized) could be automatized as some kind of source/sink scenario. Every Planet where there are more populations of type x than needed (maybe + a buffer amount) is a source, every planet where there is a need of this populati...

Re: Complex simplicity versus micromanage hell

... I think we will definitely see the first in MORE. There are several planet types and each race will have an ideal sweet spot. I also did not like that every race's perfect planet was Terran or Gaia. Uhm, that's not necessarily a silly idea. It seems reasonable to suppose that most intelligent s...

Re: Complex simplicity versus micromanage hell

... Not sure we will ever see the second. While I agree it is more realistic and interesting, it would also become tedious if you are controlling several hundred of systems. I'm not going to bother optimizing the build on one minor world in my empire of hundreds of planets. The region system defini...

Re: "Ongoing" production and simultaneous production

One game, I am not sure which one it was, I think MoO3, had its building queues compartimented into a civilian and military queue. With other words, you could produce civilian (planetary) improvements at the same time as military (spaceships). The most realistic appproach would probably be, that you...

Re: Complex simplicity versus micromanage hell

I love my games complex. Therefore (although I love MoO2) I would wish it to be more complex than MoO2 (well, I am one of the people who also liked MoO3, despite its learning cliff ;) and am a regular player of Dwarf Fortress) But I am definitely pro automating routine chores. For example... say we ...

Re: Game Size

There are few games I know that exceed ~ 20 GB ... and usually they belong to the Flight-Simulator class (like MSFS X + Expansions). I think most games (especially in the 4X genre) even stay below 10 GB. Therefore I chose the middle option (i.e. 11-30 GB), as this will allow for ample of space for t...
