Re: AI Goals

What is the best in this system - you cant destroy the whole enemy during one war (if he is big enough) because even if you conquer all of his provinces you wont have enough "war" points to claim for all of this provinces during peace negiotiations, which means that usually you need to wi...

Re: Graphic presentation of continuous fire in turn-based ba

Yea the idea of turn based is that it is a snap shot in time. When you hit "next turn", time moves forward a set amount and then pauses again. It is not meant to showcase a live action battle. It is really a series of video clips pieced together. In between each "clip" we see the...

Re: Star System Names

After 400 years? I think they will start to call it Little China ... ;) It can be dangerous and difficult from game code. For example for diplomacy. Ok. AI will be ok with system ID's but when for example 12 human players will be playing and discussing 1 star system, what then? It can be confusing....

Yea in the case of monsters, I completely agree with you. I'd be ok with that level of susceptibility.

Re: Terran Commonwealth Capital

Yea New York is the easy choice as it's the current financial center of the world. I could see Chicago or Los Angeles possibly working too. But that's my Americancentrist point of view. Maybe Brussels for an international choice? That's the home of the EU right?

Re: Executing leaders so they don't go work for a enemy.

I do see how it could be annoying to lose your best admiral to old age. I also see it as a good way to refresh the leader pool from time to time. So either way works for me. Some of this can be solved with TECH. Like mind mapping with clone personality and memory injection. I do see natural life sp...

Re: Space Monsters

The telepath monster is also fine, except for the part where robotic races are basically immune to it. Says who? For telepathy to work, it must be capable of precisely manipulating many very small objects at a great distance (unless everyone is born with a radar antennae in their brains :P ) - I se...

Re: weapons VELOCITIES

Ok, I'm not going to get into detail of the balancing of those various weapons. In short, I agree that with balancing you could tweak it to make various strategies more or less viable. My fear is people would just use strategies that maximized missiles regardless of penalties against them. Plus, in ...

Re: Executing leaders so they don't go work for a enemy.

I don't see why in a big universe I can't have a leader for every planet. At-least let me have my own race weak leaders at a minimum. Yeah you are right. As long as there is not a maximum number of leaders I see no reason why you can't have a large number of leaders. Back to lifespans for a sec. I ...
