With starlanes going away, warping through wormholes need not be tied to colonies any more. Therefore wormholes can be placed away from and outside of star systems.

This will make for interesting strategies. How many ships do you defend a wormhole end with now, where you didn't before? Do you build stations nearby, much like Deep Space 9 from Star Trek?

It will be interesting to see how wormholes get implemented, if indeed they do.

And we want to implement for example non stable wormholes.. or stable only in 1 point... and then with proper tech you can make it stable, or even close/open a wormhole..

In some radius - yes.

But all of this options will be to change in game options - if you want wormholes.. and how they will behave.

That sounds great! By the way, Calavero, will we have space stations? That was something I missed in MoO2.

With the inclusion of command points, I can only imagine spacestations will definitely be present.

Exactly... and we want to implement even more :) I can't tell about everything here.. but we have some very interesting ideas.
Just give us possibility to do that... and support our project.

Sorry, my question was badly phrased: will we have space stations independent of colonies? So can we built a station at a wormhole entrance without having a colony near by?

One of the things I would want to see is building a Space Station near Wormhole and collecting really good income from letting ships to use the wormhole. Wormhole entrance should be treated as a 'resource', so significant, that wars could be fought over it.

Maybe in time, when or if, subspace travel is discovered, then the importance of wormhole would decrease a bit, but the Space Station would still remain important for trade income, science output and refuelling/repair of fleets.
